Achilles is a technical hardcore band formed by members of previous Rochester hardcore bands Building on Fire, the breaking project, and Standfast. Josh Dillion plays bass, Rob “Nooch” Antonucci plays guitar, Chris Browne plays drums, and Rory Van Grol sings. They have released a demo on Luchador Records, a split with Syracuse metalcore band Engineer on Hex Records, and two full length albums entitled “The Dark Horse” and most recently “Hospice” also on Hex Records. Known for their awe inspiring live performances and dark, revealing lyrics, they are not a band to be missed.
Chris Browne later went on to Polar Bear Club, while Rory Van Grol is in Soul Control. They say they aren't broken up, they just don't have much time now that the side-projects have come to the forefront.
Hospice, released on May 8, 2007 through Hex Records, is the sophomore full-length studio album and fifth release from the Rochester-based hardcore band Achilles.
